On April 27, Fairmount True Value held its grand opening, reflecting owner Jim Moyer’s vision of creating a shopping destination, jobs and a great community environment for his small town. Jim decided to invest in Hemphill, Texas, after moving there from California and noticing the lack of nearby amenities. Based on his project manager’s relationship with True Value, Jim chose to partner with the company to open his first hardware store. He has since emerged as Hemphill's "unofficial mayor," with ambitious plans in the works to develop an airport, doctor's office, B&B and restaurant.
Located between two of the best bass fishing lakes, Jim's 26,000 sq. ft. hardware store offers everything local customers need and is already wowing them with its variety of offerings and great customer service. He's very pleased with the positive community response and all the support he got from True Value along the way.
True Value RC Marjorie Braddick, RD Steve Brookhart and retail paint consultant Ricky Rinaudo attended the opening celebration, which included the standard prizes as well as giveaways for 500 hats and 500 t-shirts.
Congratulations to Jim Moyer and the Fairmount True Value team!
