As Hurricane Florence sped towards the Carolinas last week, Team True Value was revving up around the clock. From our regional warehouses to corporate headquarters to our retail field team…all cylinders were firing to get our stores the products they needed.
Ryder driver Kevin Hernandez went above and beyond, bringing emergency goods to Burney True Value in Seven Lakes, North Carolina at 3 a.m. Braving road blocks and rising flood waters, he promised store owner Jim Ransdell, “I’ll deliver your orders if I have to carry them across the creek myself.” Jim, wife Kristy and son Sam can’t speak highly enough of Kevin’s positive attitude and dedication, which helped them stock vital supplies for their community.
True Value’s southeastern regional director Tim Hanna was on deck at the Atlanta RDC throughout Hurricane Florence Panic Week—answering phones, coordinating emergency orders and aiding some desperate retailers that stayed open during the storm. He then rented a box truck to personally make overnight deliveries to two North Carolina stores 500 miles away.
